Beginners Crochet Purse Free Pattern

I say beginners loosely here as i know it may not be easy for every beginner. The hardest part of this crochet wallet is the hearts i would say as you are working with two yarns at the same time while keeping things neat. It is not the easiest thing.

However, you can always leave out the heart and you will still have a crochet purse!

Best Yarn For Crochet Purse

I made two purses purses using different weights of yarn. The red was made with a DK weight yarn while the yellow was made with a medium weight yarn (worsted weight). You can pick whichever yarn weight you want. Besides, this is a scrap yarn crochet project.

CROCHET PENCIL CASE PATTERN

With red yarn, ch 48+1 (49)

Row 1: sc across in the back bump if ch. ch1, turn

Row 2: sc across, ch 1 turn

Row 3: first heart row. Grab your white yarn, we will crochet over it as if we are working over a yarn tail.

using red yarn still, 2 sc while working over the white yarn, in the third stitch, insert hook, hook the white yarn and pull it through, finish the sc with the red yarn.

sc with red 3 sts, in fourth, rep the heart: insert hook, hook the white yarn and pull it through, finish the sc with the red yarn. As you work the red sc remember to work over the while yarn.

Row 4: sc across in red. You can choose to work over the white yarn but i find it looks messy on the right side so i prefer cutting the yarn and weaving it in at the end.

Row 5: the first stitch for row 5 will be the heart. Grab the white yarn, work a heart, 3sc in red then work a heart. Rep form the rest of the row.

Row 6: sc in red across

Rep row 3-5 for 15 rows.

Crochet Flap

Row 16 : ch1, sc into 16 sts, ch1 and turn

Row 17: make your first heart, sc 3, crochet heart and rep for then row

Continue your rows as we have been down alternating between the two heart rows till you have a total of 9 rows of the flap or your entire purse is 24 rows.

At the end of the flap, you should be on the wrong side. Now we are going to work the shell stitches which are absolutely optional.

Cut off the red yarn and attach the white yarn.

With the right side facing you, in white yarn, sc across. ch1, turn

Skp first 2 sts, into the third, place 6 dc, skp 1 sts, sc, slp 2 sts, 6dc, skp 1 st, sc, skp2 sts, 6dc, skp 2 sts, sc. cut off yarn and weave in all ends.

SEWING THE CROCHET PURSE
