Either way, i am loving it.

CROCHET PATTERN
Make a MR or ch 4 and slst to the first ch
R1: Ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc in the MR or center of the ch you made, ch2, 3dc,ch2,3dc,ch2, 3dc, ch2 and slst to the top of the first ch3. You have your first square
R2: Ch 3, 2dc in previous ch 2 space, 3dc in next ch2 space, ch2 2, 3dc in same ch 2 space to make your first incr. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch 2 space. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 space, 3dc, ch2, slst to the top of the first ch3 you made to complete the second round.
R3: ch 3, 2dc in previous ch2 space, 3dc in previous row space (watch video if you do not understand), 3dc, ch2, 3dc in corner, 3dc in previous row space, 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next corner, 3dc in previous row space, 3dc, ch2,3dc in next corner, 3dc in previous row space, 3dc, ch2, slst to the top of ch3.
To make the loops
Ch 1, sc in same st and the next 4sts, ch4, sc all around placing 2sc in the corners. There will be 9 sc on each side not including the corners.
At the end, slst to the first sc and cut off yarn.
Make another granny square but instead of chaining 4 for the loop chain 20 or more if you wish to have a longer loop.
Sew the granny squares together leaving an opening at the top to insert your airpods or whatever you wish to put inside.
Weave in all ends and your small crochet project is all done!
