When i say this crochet zip sweater is a must have, i mean it. I have always seen similar sweaters on Pinterest with zippers and i knew i always wanted one.

Before we go any further, let me make this clear, this is not a free crochet sweater pattern, If you wish to make this sweater, then get the PDF crochet sweater pattern HERE.

Speaking of free crochet sweater patterns, i have so so many you can find HERE.
Modern Crochet Zip Sweater
If you happen to know how to knit, then this knit stripped zip sweater or the Drop shoulder zipper sweater will definitely make you happy. Both patterns are free.

This crochet zip sweater was my second make because i Ove blocked the first one. There are differences in the first crochet zipper sweater and this crochet zip sweater in that the size of yarn and crochet hook used are different which affects the fit slightly.
But since the sweater is oversized, the difference will not be too visible.

Can a beginner crochet the zip sweater?
I will go ahead and say NO! However, if you are very confident, remember, you can always give it a go. Besides the crochet zip sweater pattern, it comes with a well detailed video tutorial on YouTube (do not forget to subscribe) which will make the making of the sweater much much easier.

Personally, i find the collar and attaching the zipper to be the most challenging and i designed this sweater pattern, but with patience and attention to detail, you will be just fine.
Best Supplies for the Crochet Zip Sweater
For the first one, i used an acrylic yarn, The second one i used a cotton yarn. I love the way the cotton yarn feels and looks, but, i loved the way the acrylic yarn draped after blocking.

But then again, it was slightly bigger than the one i made in cotton, but that would be because i sized down while using a smaller hook and yarn. So keep that in mind before you cast on your sweater.
You want to have access to either A cotton or Acrylic yarn. Or whatever yarn you have close by just be sure to do a gauge test to make sure you are on the right track.
