crochet twisted headband/earwarmer
While we are still in the spirits of giving and gifting, this crochet twisted headband and or ear warmer is the perfect low budget last minute present. This ear warmer calls for one skein of yarn,so it is perfect for that left over yarn you have laying around.
As it is christmas and the budget is tight, this twisted headdband couldnt fit the budget more perfectly as it calls for scrap yarn
This ear warmer is very wide, however, made wider, it would provide a loooot more warmth to the ears, go crazy, you are a crocheter after all, when you hold the hook, you are in charge!!!
As i say for almost all the projects, this crochet earwarmer is a no brainer, it can be your first project too!! I know i say this a looot, but it won't be so as the next project will be looking in the mosaic direction, I am excited to share that pattern with you!!!

CONSTRUCTION
The construction of this twisted headband is as easy as they come. We will begin by making a chain that firs our head, as said earlier ( probably in the video tutorial), this pattern comprises of three sizes, so you and your baby can have that matching motif this Christmas holidays.
You begin by making the required chain for your size, the whole pattern is a 2 row repeat of half double crochet and slip stitches to give us the ribbed look that makes it look knit, then we fold the work to give it the twisted appearance and heeey, you got yourself a crochet twisted headband. You could never go wrong with this one!
For the toddler, we will use measurement based pattern.
R 1: Grab your measuring tape and make a chain that measures 14 inches. block the last ch and make a ch of 1, into the second st from the hook, place a hdc. Place hdc in the remaining st. At the end of the row, ch 1 and turn
R2: This is the slst row now, into the first st from the hook, place a slst, and continue placing slst in the remaining st. Repeat these 2 rows till your desired thickness has been achieved.
TWISTED PART
To form the twisted part, lay the edges of the headband against each other as if you are folding it in half, pull one pannel of the headband till its edge is half way onto the other panel and fold them closed. I know what i said did not make sense hahaha, so play the video below at exactly 6:12 to get a better understanding.
ADULT TWISTED HEADBAND PATTERN
Finally, the adult's crochet twisted headband. Soooo, let's get into it

THE PART THAT GETS TWISTED
To form the twisted part, lay the edges of the headband against each other as if you are folding it in half, pull one pannel of the headband till its edge is half way onto the other panel and fold them closed. I know what i said did not make sense hahaha, so play the video below at exactly 6:12 to get a better understanding.
